Modular & powerful

The Yamaha F225NCB head is a powerful motor unit without underwater part - ideal for individual applications where the drive is selected or replaced separately. Its compact design makes it particularly attractive for shipyards, integrators or special projects.

The 4.2-liter V6 engine with variable camshaft timing (VCT) and EFI technology delivers high performance, fast throttle response and reliable efficiency. The digital control (DEC) enables precise handling in every situation.

Optional functions such as TotalTilt™ or TERE can be added if a suitable underwater part is used. The F225NCB is therefore a flexible and robust basis for modern, customized drive concepts.

Fully compatible with optional electric steering system
TotalTilt™ function with integrated tilt limiter
TERE exhaust system for improved reverse thrust
Elegant, modern and lightweight design
Premium engine mounts
New and improved underwater part

Simple, clean setup with Yamaha's DES system

The 225 hp V6 engine is fully compatible with Yamaha's optional Digital Electric Steering (DES) system. The DES system ensures a tidy boat deck - without hydraulic pumps, hoses, control units, fluids or special bleed connections. It also enables technicians to carry out new installations much more quickly and easily during servicing.

Quick raising and lowering at the touch of a button

Yamaha's exclusive TotalTilt™ feature allows the engine to be fully raised or lowered - all the way to the trim cylinder - with a simple double-click of the corresponding tilt button. During the process, an audible signal sounds to alert the crew and ensure free movement at the stern. An integrated tilt limiter also protects against unintentional damage.

More control when reversing and at low speed

The TERE system (Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust) ensures that the exhaust bubbles are kept above the anti-ventilation plates - away from the propeller - when reversing below 2500 rpm. As a result, the propeller only grabs clear water, which enables significantly stronger reverse thrust and precise maneuverability. Combined with the optional digital steering system and Helm Master EX joystick, it offers maximum benefit in tight areas and when docking.

Optics in the style of the XTO - redesigned down to the last detail

Inspired by the design of the larger XTO model, this outboard motor features a color-coordinated lower unit, a new one-piece upper engine cover with integrated water drain channel, a reshaped lower cover and high-quality graphics. The impressive new look perfectly complements the proven performance and is an ideal match for a wide range of premium boats.

Smoother ride due to reduced vibrations

Adopted from the flagship XTO model, the lower engine mounts are larger and softer. This significantly reduces vibrations and makes the riding experience noticeably quieter and more pleasant.

More durability and optimized power transmission

The new 4.2-liter V6 engine with 225 hp has a revised underwater section with new components and design features. The redesigned tooth profile of the gearwheels improves contact and reduces surface pressure. In addition, optimized oil routing in the lower area and on the gears ensures greater resilience and a longer service life.
